A Break from Building: Hawthorn Builders’ Annual North Shore Fishing Trip

August 29, 2013

At Hawthorn Builders, we pride ourselves on crafting exceptional custom homes and renovations throughout the Greater Boston area. But even the most dedicated teams need to step away from their projects now and then to recharge, connect, and enjoy the beautiful region we call home. This year, the Hawthorn crew took to the North Shore for our much-anticipated annual fishing trip—a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of building dream homes in Needham and beyond.

A Day on the Water

The timing couldn’t have been better. With clear skies and calm waters, the weather set the stage for an unforgettable day. Our team came together to enjoy camaraderie and a shared love of the great outdoors, trading in toolbelts and blueprints for fishing rods and the open sea. It was a refreshing break from the day-to-day challenges of home building, allowing us to reconnect with each other and the natural beauty of the Massachusetts coastline.

Sharks: The Unofficial Hawthorn Mascots

No Hawthorn fishing trip would be complete without a little adventure, and this year did not disappoint. As if on cue, our favorite marine visitors—sharks—made another dramatic appearance. Spotting sharks has become a reliable tradition on our trips, so much so that any thoughts of a Hawthorn snorkeling outing have been permanently shelved! While the sharks kept their distance, their presence added an undeniable thrill to our day at sea, reminding us why the ocean is such an awe-inspiring force.

Building Bonds Beyond Homes

For us at Hawthorn Builders, moments like these go beyond just having fun. They’re about strengthening the relationships that allow us to work so well as a team. Whether it’s strategizing on a custom home design or casting a fishing line, collaboration is at the heart of what we do. This annual trip serves as a reminder that the same trust and teamwork we bring to the construction site are built on a foundation of mutual respect and shared experiences.

Back to Crafting Dream Homes

With the fishing trip behind us, the Hawthorn Builders team returns to work recharged and ready to tackle new projects. Whether we’re building luxury homes, completing intricate renovations, or creating sustainable designs, our passion for delivering excellence remains unwavering. Breaks like these help us bring fresh energy and creativity to every home we design and build, ensuring our clients get the best we have to offer.

A Tradition That Lives On

Our annual North Shore fishing trip is more than just a day on the water—it’s a celebration of our team, our values, and our commitment to balance. While we may joke about the sharks being our unofficial mascots, they serve as a fun reminder of why we love these outings: they’re unpredictable, exciting, and always memorable. Stay tuned for a video of this year’s adventure, complete with another unforgettable shark sighting!

At Hawthorn Builders, we understand that creating extraordinary homes starts with an extraordinary team. And moments like these only strengthen the foundation we’ve built together. Until next year, we’ll cherish the memories and look forward to the next adventure.
