Hawthorn Home Care is private home care, managed by a custom builder. One company manages all the maintenance your home needs — inspections, repairs, vendors, and the details in between — so your home is cared for before things break, not after. One home. One connected process.
How Home Care Works
- We start with your home. We schedule an annual Home Care walkthrough with a member of the Hawthorn team. It lets us get to know your home, understand any immediate concerns, and document its ongoing maintenance needs.
- We document what we find. During the walkthrough, we use our inspection platform to capture observations, recommended maintenance, and potential repairs — including photos, videos, and notes. This creates a clear record of your home's condition and the basis for our recommendations.
- Recommendations become an estimate. The items we identify are turned into an itemized estimate, so you can see the recommended work and the supporting details in one place.
- You decide what moves forward. You review and approve the items you'd like Hawthorn to complete. You don't need to approve everything at once — the work can be prioritized around your needs and timing.
- Approved work moves into the member portal. Once approved, each item is added to your member portal, where it becomes a tracked item for our team to schedule and manage.
- We manage the work. Your Hawthorn team coordinates the approved work — including any subcontractors or specialists needed — and manages each item through completion. The portal gives you one place to see your open items and their status.
- Something comes up? One reach-out. Home Care doesn't stop with the walkthrough. Whenever something comes up at your home, you reach out once — by text, email, or through the portal — and it becomes a tracked request in our ticketing system. Our team responds, schedules, and manages it through completion.
A Dedicated Account Manager
Every Home Care home has a dedicated Hawthorn account manager who stays ahead of your home: proactive outreach on seasonal maintenance and upcoming needs, prompt communication on urgent issues, and every request managed from start to finish — including coordinating with architects, contractors, and vendors on your behalf. Over time, your member portal becomes a living record of your home: what we've identified, what you've approved, what's underway, and what's been completed.
Who Home Care Is For
Home Care is built for Greater Boston homeowners who want their property professionally managed — without the time, coordination, or stress that usually comes with it: busy professionals whose home needs more attention than their calendar allows; owners of large or complex homes with systems that need regular, coordinated care; homeowners with a second home, or who travel often; and anyone tired of being their own general contractor for every repair. Hawthorn Builders has spent 21+ years building high-end homes in Greater Boston; Home Care applies that same oversight and craftsmanship to managing yours.
Hawthorn Home Care serves homeowners across Greater Boston, including Needham, Wellesley, Weston, Newton, Brookline, Lexington, Dover, and Cohasset — and surrounding communities.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is this medical or elder care?
A: No — Hawthorn Home Care is residential property management and concierge maintenance for your home. Despite the name, it has nothing to do with healthcare or caring for a person. It's one team managing your house: inspections, maintenance, repairs, and vendors.
Q: What does 'home maintenance management' actually mean?
A: It means one company is responsible for the whole picture: we inspect your home once a year, document its condition, recommend and estimate the work it needs, and — once you approve — coordinate every trade and manage each item through completion. Between walkthroughs, anything that comes up is one reach-out away from being handled.
Q: How often do you inspect my home?
A: Once a year. Your annual walkthrough is documented with photos and video on our inspection platform, and it produces a forward-looking maintenance plan so upcoming work is never a surprise.
Q: Do I have to approve all the recommended work?
A: No. Every recommendation comes to you as an itemized estimate, and you approve only the items you want, on your timing. Nothing moves forward without your say.
Q: How do I request something between walkthroughs?
A: One reach-out — text, email, or your member portal — creates a tracked request in our ticketing system. Your account manager handles scheduling, coordination, and follow-up, and you can see the status of every open item in the portal.
Q: Who actually does the work?
A: The Hawthorn team and the trusted subcontractors and specialists we coordinate. Because Hawthorn is a custom builder, the work is managed to builder standards — the same oversight we bring to the homes we build.
